CAST (Coalition to Abolish Slavery – Texas) is a non-partisan, community-led body of individuals and organizations created in 2020 with the singular goal of abolishing slavery in this country, starting with Texas. We are a member of the Abolish Slavery National Network (ASNN), a national coalition of statewide efforts to abolish slavery.
Slavery is wrong in any form. While many have been taught that slavery was abolished with the 13th Amendment of the United States’ Constitution, that is a lie. A clause in the 13th Amendment allows this country to dodge the true abolition of slavery by permitting it as a punishment. CAST believes that the evil of slavery is absolute and, thus, the response to it must be absolute as well.
We must permanently abolish slavery and forced labor.
No exemptions. No exceptions.
